John Ralph, founder and owner of Ascent Fitness in Launceston was instrumental in forming the LUFT ( Launceston Urban Fringe Trail) which is the longest urban walk in Australia at approx. 110km. Ascent Fitness is introducing and guiding people in the bushwalking and outdoor adventure space, often reaching remote and seldom visited areas of the state. Never one to rest on his laurels, John thought that, with a few alterations, he could make the LUFT accessible to not just walkers, but also his clients who are relying on a wheelchair - the 'wheelies route' was born!John and his business are great supporters of their NDIS clients, creating another supportive community.
